Buyers Beware with 12v Lithium Batteries
There are many lithium batteries on the market that are not the Real McKoy, here are some of the things that you need to look out for when buying 12v lithium batteries:
- When a battery advertises super light weight that is a tell tale sign for the battery actually not been the advertised Ah, for example a super light weight 100Ah battery is more likely to be 60Ah.
- A 1 year warranty is a giveaway that the battery is made up with inferior cells meaning that you’ll have to replace it 2-3 times more often than our good quality lithium making those much more expensive in the long run.
- Many lithium batteries cannot be put in series or parallel limiting scenarios they can be used in.
- Many lithium batteries are not self managed, not having in built battery protection means that the batteries can be over discharged leading to a much shorter battery life.
